Walk Ride GM’s 1st Birthday

It’s our Walk Ride Greater Manchester birthday on Tuesday 3 December – and you’re all invited.

We are campaigning to make walking and cycling the natural choice for everyday journeys across Greater Manchester. Come along to hear about what the campaign group has been working on over our first year (Deansgate, Great Ancoats Street, Hyde Road, bikes on trams and other projects) and what our plans are going forwards.

Come and network with other people interested in the cause and hear from guests:

  • Chris Boardman – Greater Manchester’s Cycling & Walking Commissioner
  • Dafydd Trystan – Chair of Cycle Training Wales and Chair of Governors at Ysgol Hamadryad, a Cardiff primary school, which has a school car exclusion zone, walking buses, travel planning and a range of other sustainability initiatives. Dafydd will talk about the opportunities but also the challenges of getting a whole school to embrace active travel – and he will tell us about the remarkable results achieved.
  • Prestwich Walk Ride local group

Donations to support the cause are gratefully received and we will have collection buckets on the evening.

Arrive at Friends’ Meeting House from 6pm – we’ll be in the downstairs hall, straight through the double doors.

Please register in advance to join us by following this link.

Hi,
I’ve registered but can no longer make it due to seasonal lurgy!!
Very dissapointed – if you have minutes/videos/highlights available at any time, I would be most interested.

(Am particularly interested in objectives & status of recent Traunch 5 & 6 BeeNetwork schemes; somewhat surprised so little detail when approved).
