We have the Mancunian Way inner ring road for a reason: to prevent the need to cut through the city centre. And yet our city’s streets are still being designed to enable rat running through the key spaces, making the environment less hospitable for people walking, cycling or using other active travel modes.
We believe Manchester City Council should already be planning for a future where car parks are not consented and licensed for locations within the Mancunian Way, so limiting the opportunities and need for drivers to bring their cars into the city centre.
