Our steering group is a group of dedicated and passionate volunteers who all want to make Greater Manchester a better place to live by advocating for improvements that make journeys by walking, wheeling, and cycling safer, more accessible, and more pleasant. We steer the GM level activities, as well as working across the region to support the people who volunteer with our local groups to achieve whatever they want to focus on in their areas.

Ben Horrigan
Ben runs Studio 91, a B Corp Certified video production company. His cargo trike is usually full of camera kit, his two sons or both. He uses the car sometimes, but walking and cycling are his default options. For Walk Ride GM, Ben looks after all things visual – from social media graphics to short films that tell positive stories about active travel.

Cazz Ward
Cazz works in IT and loves all things technical, particularly cyber security. She cycles when she can and also loves walking out around the glorious countryside of the North West. She manages the tech for Walk Ride GM and is our expert on all things to do with Active Travel to School and School Streets.

Harry Gray
Harry is a small business owner who uses cargo bikes for daily transport. His focus is developing a network of advocates using social media and the online community platform Discord. After starting his active travel journey as a student cycling on Oxford Road, Harry moved across the Irwell to establish Walk Ride Salford. He also co-hosts the podcast “Moving Up North”

Lorraine Eagling
Lorraine is a maths teacher. She has done lots of work promoting active travel in Urmston and Flixton, coordinating youth travel ambassadors, applying for funding for cycle shelters and inputting to shape the Flixton low traffic neighbourhood scheme. She is also a volunteer on the Urmston Primary School Street.

Naz Khan
After learning to ride in her 30s, Naz became a Bikeability Instructor and Cycle Mechanic, sharing her passion and expertise with schools and community groups in North Manchester. Through initiatives like the Eid Cycle Fest, Naz fosters a sense of community and joy. As part of the Walk Ride GM steering group, she advocates for safer roads and inclusive cycling spaces.

Will York
Will helps build support for better infrastructure by speaking to people and politicians all across Greater Manchester. He also produces our “Moving Up North” podcast alongside Harry. He’s closely involved in his local group, Walk Ride Stockport. When not campaigning for Walk Ride, Will is a freelance Chartered structural engineer and also a behaviour change officer for national charity Cycling UK.
