Transport for a Healthy Economy — Video Submission Terms & Privacy Notice

Who we are. This campaign is coordinated by Walk Ride Greater Manchester (“we”, “us”), working with Clean Cities, Mums for Lungs, Low Traffic Future, The Ramblers and Manchester Friends of the Earth. Walk Ride Greater Manchester is the data controller for submissions. Contact: harry.gray@walkridegm.org.uk

What we collect. When you send us a video, we receive your video (including your image, voice, name and anything you say in it) and the phone number you send it from.

What we use it for. We use your submission to select and compile questions for the Greater Manchester mayoral candidates, and to publish selected questions on the partner organisations’ social media channels alongside the candidates’ responses. We use your contact details only to communicate with you about your submission. Our lawful basis is your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).

Publication. By submitting a video, you confirm you are happy for it to be published on the partner organisations’ social media channels (including Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Bluesky, Reddit and Facebook) and shared with the mayoral candidates. Not all submissions will be used. Please don’t include personal information beyond your first name and the area of Greater Manchester you live in, and don’t include anyone else in your video without their permission.

Age. You must be 18 or over to submit a video, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.

Retention and deletion. We will delete all submitted videos and contact details within 30 days of the hustings campaign ending, whether or not your video was used. Please note that videos published on social media before that date will remain publicly visible on those platforms; if you’d like a published video taken down, contact us and we will remove it from the partner organisations’ accounts.

Your rights. You can withdraw your consent at any time, and you have the right to access, correct or request deletion of your data. To do any of these, contact harry.gray@walkridegm.org.uk. Withdrawing consent won’t affect any processing that took place beforehand. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Sharing. Your video may be shared between the partner organisations listed above and with mayoral candidates and their campaign teams for the purpose of obtaining responses. We won’t use your details for marketing or add you to any mailing list, and we won’t share your contact details with candidates.
