Greater Manchester Walking Voice is inviting walkers in the region to join them at a Bee Network Engagement event on Wednesday 11 September.
GM’s Walking and Cycling Commissioner, Chris Boardman, will be in attendance, along with fellow walkers, walking agencies, community organisations, population health and primary care specialists, local authority activity specialists, active transport policy and planners, and environmentalists.
Due to take place between 9.30am and 12.30pm, the event features shorts talks from representatives of Transport for Greater Manchester and Living Streets, and aims to give attendees the opportunity to take part in workshops exploring different aspects of the Bee Network plans, including the following topics:
• Filtered Neighbourhoods: Enabling Active Communities
• Walking Infrastructure in Action
• Walking: Barriers and Access
• The Bee Network: Connecting to Greenspace
The GM Walking Voice group was established earlier this year to grow a network of individuals and organisations to share stories and evidence of what is working, talking about the benefits and opportunities, and therefore influencing decisions that empower more walking.
