Recently there have been trials of shorter waiting times for pedestrians at pelican crossings in the Greater Manchester region, and Transport for London has trialled ‘green man authority‘ to give pedestrians the default right of way.
Adopting these types of initiative will help to improve the overall walking experience through the towns and cities in Greater Manchester – but we’d like to see more of it implemented sooner rather than later.
